Jim Lockhart has guided business transactions for more than 30 years. He has counseled both public and private companies through billions of dollars in successful transactions in the energy, entertainment, cable television, and healthcare industries.
Mr. Lockhart is a strong business leader with extensive experience in corporate governance; mergers, acquisitions and divestitures; tax considerations; venture capital financing; and capital formation, including public offerings and private placements of debt and equity securities. He served as managing partner of Popham Haik, a 250-attorney national law firm, and as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Fiserv Health, Inc. a national health care company.
Mr. Lockhart has counseled many nonprofit organizations regarding organizational, tax and policy matters. He has also served on the Board of Directors and as Chair for several nonprofit organizations, including WingSpan (formerly St. Ann's Home) and InRoads.
Mr. Lockhart joined Smith Partners in 2005 to devote his transactional expertise to land and water resources conservation, community development, and other public interest projects.
