b.S. Human resources, UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA - TWIN CITIES

Zaynab Mohamed supports Smith Partners as a Strategy Consultant and Communications Advisor for the Lake Street Greenway Partnership, a broad coalition of public agencies, foundations, community organizations, and businesses committed to the equitable revitalization of Lake Street in Minneapolis. In this role, she helps lead communications and strategy efforts that center racial equity, cultural preservation, and anti-displacement in rebuilding one of the city’s most diverse and economically vital corridors.

Through her work, Zaynab supports the development of community-driven tools, and practices that prioritize investment in immigrant, Black, and Brown neighborhoods. She collaborates with partners such as the City of Minneapolis, Hennepin County, the Lake Street Council, the Midtown Greenway Coalition, Allina Health, local chambers of commerce, and neighborhood-based organizations to ensure that the recovery and redevelopment of Lake Street reflect the voices and values of those who live and work there.

Raised just blocks from Lake Street, Zaynab brings both personal and professional dedication to this work. Her commitment to inclusive development and racial justice is rooted in lived experience and a deep connection to the South Minneapolis community.
